HTC U Play is Oceans little brother with a 5 2 screen

HTC is bypassing both CES and the MWC with its “For U” event scheduled for January 12. The event should bring a new series to live with at least two phones - the HTC U Ultra and HTC U Play.

The latter will have a 5.2” screen and apparently no 3.5mm headphone jack. The HTC U Play is codenamed “Alpine.” The second phone will be bigger - HTC U Ultra with a 6” screen and again no headphone jack. This one is dubbed “Ocean.” Then there’s the “Ocean Note”, which should come in at 5.5” to 5.7”.

The Ocean models should have curved screens and will focus on providing a top notch camera experience. Again, the For U event is next Thursday.
